Pavement Pals

We finally got to play outside again! After a cool down and a mini-wet season... We were back at it. Bo was pretending this nice spot on the sidewalk was his bed and he just woke up. Doesn't he look peppy?? You can tell he's faking because there is NO WAY that he looks like this when he REALLY wakes up! :-D

Story Teller

When I got home today, I was putting some things away and walked by our bedroom and Bo was sitting on the step ladder talking. I asked him what he was doing and he said, "I'm telling a story, but there is nobody here to listen."

Feeling bad, I asked if I could listen, then I was wondering if he wanted to see if Hailey wanted to join in as well. We went over and asked her and she didn't know if she wanted to or not. So then we asked Momma and she came upstairs and we all sat down while Bo told his story.

Talk about CUTE! There was a lot of, "Hmmm, let's see." And, "Wow, look at that!" But he paged through the book and held it out for all of us to see! Thank you Bo for that wonderful wonderful story!!

Bo Science

Bo: Mama, how does the rain get gone?

Me: (trying to explain evaporation to a toddler- long and rambling)

B0: Yes. . . . Well I know that the itsy bitsy spider climbed up the water spout. And then the rain WASHED him out. And then the sun dried up the rain. . . . . Mama? Do suns dry up rains?

Me: Yes baby, the sun dries up the rain.

:) My boy is so smart!!

Weekend at Grandmas

Well, it was another weekend I am so thankful for Uncle Earl! We were having some car trouble and he was able to get us back up and running! Hailey took some cues from Uncle Earl while we were checking out the car on Friday... Hrmm... Now let's see how those brake pads and rotors are looking!!

I think my favorite part about being at the garage on Friday was seeing how comfortable Bo was being around the cars, equipment and tools. He is usually a little cautious about being in new places, but on Friday? He was as comfortable as can be! I wish you all could have seen it! :)

And last but not least... Thanks again Uncle Earl!! :)

Dentist Ride

In addition to the unknown, disguised person yesterday... Our family did have a trip to the dentist worked in there too! Our dentist office is great and has some good toys for the kids. Also, the hygienists were super good with Hailey and Bo. The highlight of the day was before we even got to the dentist however... I had explained to Bo that the dentist would just want to take a look and count all your teeth. He also might want to show you how you can brush your teeth better.

It really seemed like a good talk to calm Bo down and remove any anxiety he would have at the dentist... But on the way there, Bo had been quiet and finally says, "Dad, I think I already have enough teeth!" Hailey, laughing says, "Bo, they aren't putting new teeth in your mouth!"

A Fresh Disguise

We were looking for the girl with the beautiful smile and had to interview a bystander to see if she knew of her whereabouts... Needless to say, we did NOT get the information we were looking for... :)

So Different...

Yet so much the same!! As much as these two have grown since this was taken 2 years ago... They still like doing a lot of the same things! Stacking blocks and being creative! It truly is hard to believe that this was already 2 years ago!

Park Visit

The best part about an early spring is that it gives us more options for the kids when we ask what they want to do! We took a wagon ride to the park and Bo was happy as a lark on the diggers again!

Hailey was so happy too! She was playing on the swings and having a high old time! The crazy thing about being back at the park is that we haven't been there since last fall. It seems that being around the kids every day we don't notice how much they're growing. Now being at the park we can see things that they both can do that they couldn't last year. It makes the first visit that much more fun for us! :)

Next up? I'm thinking a garden run!!

St. Pattys Parade

Well, we managed to get to the St. Patricks day parade in St. Paul today. It was a lot of fun. We got to see a lot of crazy people! The only thing that was really odd was that we were there for almost 3 hours and we only had experienced one quarter of the parade! We saw the O'Malleys, the O'Gallahans, the Finnegans and even the McManus' clan! But honestly, a parade where we saw 2 fire trucks and 2 bag-pipe bands play in 2 hours has a lot to be desired!

Reading Buddies

I think I want to try and remember this sight forever... Hailey and Bo reading together and just enjoying the new book that Bo got from Mr. Toby so much! Thanks again guys!!

Need Sunglasses?

Another cool moment from last night on the way to visit Joe, Meghan and Toby... The sun was just blasting Bo all the way and finally we offered him Hailey's sunglasses. He has his own (although not handy at the time) and usually was disinterested in them. It was a different story however! He started laughing and being super excited because he could see! It's always fun to have something as small as putting on sunglasses make these guys so happy! I hope it stays that way for a looong time! :)

All Done!

That is what Bo said after he had JUST finished putting in the last 1/3rd of his bratwurst! Needless to say, we had a good laugh about him wanting to get back to the toys so quickly! We had a wonderful grill out at the Touchet's tonight! Enjoying the weather and pondering how shocked we'll be if it actually gets cold again before the real Spring hits. :)

Truffles!

We had a French night at the house since we have been studying France as well as the French language! This means that there is alot of new food at the table and for anyone who has been around Bo, he is not one to willingly try new things unless it's shiny red and looks like a jelly bean! Well, tonight he helped make truffles. He asked to do a finger try on the dark chocolate and then what do you know? He actually TRIED the truffle! And boy did he like it!!

From the rock bottom day where he reacted to oatmeal and applesauce to trying a truffle, this is a fun day indeed. Hopefully his adventure continues. We do make lots of good, safe stuff for the little tiger, but he just isn't always prone to trying it.

And an update on Hailey and her truffle? Oh yeah, she had no problems with it! :)

More Sunny Day Fun

Hailey had the idea that we should trace each other in chalk on the side walk. I said of course!!! Although my picture didn't come out very well at all, Hailey's and Bo's did!! Here is Hailey! I even drew her Wisconsin Badger Rose Bowl t-shirt! :)

Here is Bo! We had to do him quickly because the sun was in his eyes and he generally doesn't like to stay in one place when he knows you want him to stay in one place. :) But we made it! Hailey even put on his straps on his shoes. I thought it was a nice touch!

The awkward moment of the day went to me. The neighbor lady came out of the house and I jokingly asked if she wanted to be traced in chalk too. I thought it was funny, then after she half laughed and walked away, I thought that might have definitely been a weird thing to say. Oh well. I laughed about it, I hope she did after the shock wore off! :)

We of course had to hit up the picnic outside. Hotdogs for everyone!!!

Kite Flyer

We took major advantage of the early spring weather today! We spent just about as much time outside as we did inside! This morning there was sidewalk chalk (come back to see the pictures tomorrow), picnic and even kite flying! Hailey had a blast and if you look very close, you can see the kite behind her in this picture!! :-)

Everything was going good until this evening we were bringing her back down and took a nose dive onto the roof. Well, nobody had more than a 12 foot ladder, so we were thankful our friend Mr. Jon came over to help! Yay!! It was quite a good day! I heard a rumor that we will see mid 70's this week!!!

Chair Space

When the kids are playing nice together (which is most of the time, but not ALL the time) they are able to share space like this! Hailey had been coloring but then Bo came in and squeeeeeezed in next to her. She didn't like it at first, but then said, "Oh, I think you might fit there buddy!" And fit he did. They had fun coloring! The coolest thing lately is the fact that Bo is doing good writing of letters. He can write B's with smiley faces all day long! :)

Keva Carousel

The Keva Planks are at it again. Checkout this super awesome carousel!! I love those things!!! It really keeps the kids wanting to build more interesting and different things! Additionally, it really makes them super creative! :)

Play Time

No seriously, it's PLAY time! We've had a box in the garage that we've been wanting to use for SOMETHING. The kids lately have been really enjoying the kids plays they put on at church so we thought that we could build their own stage! And today was the day! They have just begun auditions today, so hopefully over the next few weeks they will have a script written up, story board drawn and be ready for full production by next month!!! Won't you be here for opening night? We may just roll out the red carpet!! :)

Polar Express!

If only a little clearer, I think this picture surely shows the intensity! Last night with everyone being a little under the weather (and Bo having pink eye), we watched Polar Express. I'm pretty sure Bo didn't move one muscle for the first hour of the movie! It was hard for me to watch the movie because I was enjoying him watching the movie! :)

Sequence!

I know I've put this on here before, but we seriously have a little gamer on our hands! And seriously, she beat the pants off me tonight! We played 8 games of Junior Sequence and guess what... I did not win one!!! Every time she kept taunting me at the end and saying, "Well, sometimes I like playing longer games and I could play this card... But I like winning too, so I'll play this one!"

Add this game to the list of other games that she just woops my tail at!!!

Snow Art Surprise!

Well, we had a big surprise for Grandma with the Fire this weekend! Hailey, Bo and I ventured into Grand Marsh unannounced for a weekend visit! It also happened to be Grandma's birthday too, what an amazing coincidence!!! What a weekend it was, we had a great day hanging out all day Saturday into the early morning hours of Sunday and then drinking coffee, eating pancakes and playing one last game of Scrabble before we headed west.

On Saturday, we finally found out where all the snow has gone! Well, at least some of it. It was fun to see the fresh show. I think we've only had 2 days of snow this year and any chances we can get to play in it I think we were taking full advantage. Hailey was writing hers and Bo's name in the snow!

Then she made a star!!

We had such a good time, I can't wait to surprise you again Grandma! :)

Bo Stories

One time, I was at Grandma's and I heard a chugga chugga sound, and it was a TRAIN!! And Suddenly, I pooped my diaper!! And suddenly I stopped pooping. And then I went to sleep.
