Thankful Tree

Since our posts have not exactly been following any chronological order lately. . . let's revisit Thanksgiving!!

I am excited (though probably not as excited as SOME people) to have our Christmas tree up, but it was hard for me to put our Thankful Tree away. We put the tags in the same box as our other fall decorations. I think it will be fun to look at them again next year. I wonder if Bo will still be thankful for weasel, cheerios and raisins, and blankets!!
The tree part we tossed on the hill beside our house. An offering for the 8 point buck that Tony spotted while he was up there!!

Tree of Lights

We did get our tree on Saturday... But we still aren't sure if the kids are excited about it yet... I suppose time will tell! :)

The Activity Scene

We started our Christmas 2011 adventures this weekend by getting our Christmas tree! It's the earliest we've ever put up the tree, but looking at the next few weeks, we decided that it was either now or the day before Christmas. We didn't want the tree up for the Super Bowl this year, so we went with the early end of the spectrum.

That being said, I think both kids are trying to retell the Nativity story a little bit. Between Hailey calling it the "Activity" scene and Bo injecting his love for cars in the story... I'm interested to see where they take this story by December 25th! :)

Butterfly Run

This picture is not exactly recent, but I just received it and it was so cute I had to share. This is from the Monarch Run in September. Hailey and her friend Henry were in the same race. Bo was supposed to be in it too, but he was too tired to compete. Hailey had been so excited that Bo was going to run with her. When he flat out refused to do it, it sure helped to have Henry eager to be in it!!

Don't have much to say about this. But this is how we found Bo during his nap today :) Sleeping under the book, you'd think the sun was shining in his eyes or something!

Thanksgiving Tree

Today, we found a great idea to do with the kids. We gathered some branches and made some tags to hang on the tree after writing something we are thankful for. Bo was thankful for cars and cheerios & raisins. Hailey was thankful for Momma and Daddy and Toys. Darlene and I were thankful for a day to relax and enjoy each other. I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!

Thankfulness

Oh the memories. We have a lot to be thankful for, and looking back 5 years ago to see this just makes me smile. I hope everyone has a safe, happy, healthy and thankful day today! We love you all the way to the moon and back. :)

A Night With Bo

Well, the deal today was that anyone who slept could go to the gym with Momma tonight. Bo was sawing logs before too long and Hailey had a mid-nap change of heart and decided that napping wasn't worth it. So when the time came, she was a little sad, but she got to hang out with Daddy and read books (which I personally enjoyed!) :)

But then it was fun for me too after Hailey was in bed and Momma and Bo were reading books... The seriousness in his face was awesome to look at! And it was also cool they were reading Danny and the Dinosaur! One of my favorites from when I was little! :)

Kids Craft Boutique

If you've spent any amount of time at our house in the last month, you know that Hailey was taking part in a Kid's Arts and Crafts Boutique put on by our homeschool co-op. Hailey has been hard at work making ornaments, soaps, bookmarks, and postcards to sell at the boutique. She even told me she was more excited for the boutique than she was for her birthday!!

Saturday was the big day!! Hailey was quite pleased with her display!!

She did very well. She met a lot of people, sold a lot of her work, learned a lot, and had a ton of fun.

Here she is at the end of the show. She claimed that she was not at all tired. Hrmmm. . . I don't know about that.

Ummmmmmm

Well... I suppose my jammy tops are on... But how in the wide world of sports did do I get my pants on this way?!??!?! PLEASE SEND HELP! :-D No Really... HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We got Hailey a new camera for her birthday and the kids have been taking turns taking the pictures. I'll give you three guesses who took this one! (And the first two don't count) :)

New Hats

Ok, so they're note technically new... They were from Mr. Toby's party a few weeks ago, but they've finally started to wear them around the house which I think is awfully cute! What do you think? :)

Children's Museum

Its been a while since we last visited the Children's Museum. Now that the weather is getting colder and its less pleasant to be outside, we decided to make a trip. As usual, Hailey was a big fan of the "paint your own face" station. Bo was an equally big fan of driving the bus.

Birthday

Just because Tony was out of town doesn't mean we didn't get to celebrate Hailey's actual birthday!! We had a special surprise for her. A trip to Grandma and Grandpa with the pony's house!!
Hailey was so excited to get to their house and see the birthday decorations and Macaroni the pony wearing a party hat and holding a gift bag!!

We had cupcakes and pie!! Grandma went to the work of making cupcakes that Bo could have. As it turned out he just wanted the sucker that was on top of the cupcake!! Oh well, at least he had the option!!

Then we opened presents!! This is probably the best (and worst) toy I have EVER bought. It is the Amaze-N-Marbles Maze Construction Set. Its the best because it is SO fun, everyone loves it, and you can build something new and different every time you play. It is the worst because its so fun, everyone loves it, and we each want another 60 pieces to make a super amaze-n maze!! We may have started a very strange addiction here!!

Happy Happy 5th Birthday!

Well, I sincerely apologize for the infrequency of the blog lately. We've been cameraless at home and then last week I was on a trip to San Diego for work. Now however, we got Hailey a camera for her birthday so the regular pictures should follow! If not, please get out the pea shooters and spit wads. We'll put the Daily back in the blog. :)

I did have pretty good seats for the game! Although it was very odd being at a football game and not really caring who won. I did find it extremely interesting how crazy Raider fans are!

When I returned home Friday night, we prepared for Hailey's "friend" birthday party. The friends she wanted to invite were Cousin Mason and Maggie, Grandma and Grandpa and Uncle Earl and Aunt Jodi, and Uncle Will!! We had such a fun time. We are thankful that you guys drove so far for just one day. I can't thank you enough for being part of Hailey's special day! Also, I cannot believe Hailey is 5! It seems like just the other day we were putting her crib together two days before she was born. My where the time has gone...

All that being said, I hope everyone has a splendid Monday!

Walk in the Park

We took a nice stroll to the library on Saturday. Probably enjoying some of the last nice, fall days! Weasel and his mother Gretchen the cat went a wandering.

And of course Hailey had Ducky, but surprisingly, Big Trunk came along too!

Tiny Dancers

Tonight was a party night! We had been studying Brazil all week and it culminated in a dinner with authentic Brazilian recipes! Yummy!!! After dinner, we were learning to Samba dance! When the kids were done with being taught how to dance, they were then taking the leads and showing us how we should be dancing. I'm not sure what this one is called, but Bo was being quite the leader!!! :)
