Keva Art

Amelia has been getting into art with the Keva planks.  Here is a picture of me.  I am angry.  I have no coffee.  >:-(

I can't remember the story on this guy.  But if I wasn't the other plank-man, this would likely be me with the fringe hair around the edges!  :)
 

All I Want for Chrithmath....

I had totally forgotten how cute it is when the kids were missing their front baby teeth.  Well, Amelia lost hers in an apple over lunch and now I've been fully reminded how much you use your front teeth to make the 'ess' sound.  :)  Now we can't hear it enough!!
 

Trick or Treat!

We really wanted to make Halloween fun this year. We weren't planning to head out trick or treating, so we created a list and schedule of events for the day! (And when I say we, I mean Darlene) :)

Here is the schedule!  Starting bright and early, everything from cookie making to volunteering to pumpkin bowling!

On the schedule also included a neighborhood parade!  We showed our spirit to everyone on Abbey Lane, Arlington and Highland Road!

Pumpkin carving is always the best!  We grew our own pumpkins this year.  However, due to the early cold, a lot of our pumpkins turned soft.  It didn't matter!  We still had a really good time carving!  Everyone got to help!

 

Ghost Fighting Treasure Hunters

One of the most fun, quick, cooperative games we have is Ghost Fighting Treasure Hunters.  You are all working together to keep the ghostly population of a mansion under control while trying to find and remove gems from the rooms.  Roll, Move, Fight, Run!  So much fun for all ages.  I think the box says 8+, but Mimi has it down and knows exactly what to do  :)

No Pets Allowed

When Jazzy was little, we were thinking that we weren't going to let her up on the couch. We had a friend who's large chocolate lab used to sleep on their couch and ended up falling off and wrecked a hip.

Well, that was yesterday and this is now.  She just can't wait for the evenings when it's her turn to use the pillows.  

Pippi was really queen of the castle and really showed her how it should be done.  Blankets please!
 

Puppy Sitting

The kids have started their own puppy sitting business.  There is no official name yet, but I like to call it BAH Pet Service.  Maybe it will stick.  Maybe it will not.

Gus is enjoying a music break under the piano.  Him and Jazzy both enjoy listening (I think) when the kids are playing.  I wish I knew what they actually thought!  :)
 

Pumpkin Patch Party

 Amelia got to have a party at Allegro on Thursday.  They finished with a group dance video and they recorded it so we can see it!  They recorded it from two different angles so you can see both sides.  :)

Living Room Redo

A few months back we decided to get the floors redone in the living room.  Surprisingly with all the people staying home these days, alot of them had been requesting new flooring and we were out 3 months on the schedule.

The day finally arrived on Monday this week.  Over the weekend I tore out the carpet and carpet pad and got it all ready to go!

The flooring folks from Creative Hardwood did a fantastic job!  They were here most of the day on Monday and then had a couple hours on Tuesday as well.  We are so happy and really don't want to be anywhere else in our house now.  :)
 

Jazzy Help

We captured this awesome moment yesterday.  Amelia was working on a puzzle and Jazzy sat intently watching her.  I'm pretty sure she was thinking, "I can do this, really, I can." 

Well, it was either that or, "I can eat that, yes I can."  :)

Big Bean Bag Chair

One of Mimi's presents for her birthday was a big bean bag chair.  She had been working hard on cleaning her room and we wanted to make sure she was able to enjoy it!  It arrived on Friday and is the softest, fluffiest thing you've ever seen.  The best part is the instructions.  It says do not let a friend sit on a flat chair.  Step 1.  fluff it up.  Step 2.  use your best Bruce Lee punch to make a divot for your butt.   :)

The last 2 nights she has also slept in it, so who needs a bed any way??

 

Cruising Position

Jazzy is really coming around on riding in the car.  Early on she wasn't quite so sure what to do.  She would spend a lot of her time laying on the floor of the van just hoping we'd be done soon.  Now?  I think she's a little too comfortable.  Hey, what do you say?  This looks like a nice place to sit!  Good thing Mimi likes it!  :-)

Jazzy is having a complex...  She is believing that she is a lap dog.  See?  I fit in here just like the Chihuahua!

We have had some extra company the past couple of months.  A friend and her fluffy puppy Gus have been holding down the fort in the basement.  It's been so much fun with him and Jazzy around and watching them play play play.  I'm really not sure what we're going to do with out him.  What would you do??

Happy 6th Birthday

Happiest of birthdays to Amelia!  I can't believe how time flies and you are 6 already.  It's amazing!  We enjoy your enthusiasm, creativity and scrappy dappy do nature to go for the things you want!

We're not exactly sure where the idea came from when asked what she wanted for her birthday, but she responded with a motorcycle with an umbrella!  Lo and behold, Grandma with the Pony rose to the challenge and put one together!

Candles extinguished!  Bo and Amelia made the most delicious yellow sheet cake with chocolate frosting.  Aren't you jealous?

How about a piñata?  YES PLEASE.  We might have to see if she wants to play baseball next summer, she has a mean swing!

Last but not least, we had a fire for roasting hot dogs and smores.  Such a great way to end the day!
