We've only had the tent house for a couple days and she's already been dusting and cleaning! My-oh-my is she a good little helper!!!

Animal Sounds

We've been trying to get a clip like this forever, but it always happens when you weren't "trying" to get it. Hailey wanted to see a baby on the camera but there wasn't any, so Mom just started shooting... And the rest is snippets of our wild animal kingdom!

The Hiding Spot

Sooner or later, she'll figure out how to get in there and we'll have no idea where she is.

P.S... If this video had subtitles, you'd need about three words: "Grunt", "Grunt Grunt" and "Bye Bye Lailey" (Hailey's way of saying Hailey!)

Chip Counter

Here's Hailey helping Daddy prepare for a little poker tournament! It wouldn't have happened without her! After we were all done stacking chips, Hailey wanted to take a bag upstairs. I didn't think that was a bad idea... I had enough other bags made up for the people who were playing. Then Mom stopped out and mentioned that along with her other entourage, she wanted to take the bag of chips to bed!

Tub Trumpeter

Wanted. Someone who helped Hailey learn what trumpet sounds are like! Here she is in this Elmo book and she saw a trumpet... She put her hand to her mouth and went "do-da-doo-da-loo!"

Please let us know a.s.a.p. if you know anything about this strange occurrence! :)

Bubbles and Blue Dresses

Sooner or later, we're going to make it a whole month without having to visit the emergency room! Hailey had an allergic reaction (we think, but it could have been an asthmatic-ish attack) and we took her into the emergency room because she was gasping a bit and having some troubles breathing.

By the time Darlene got her there, she was already sounding better so the ER doctor really didn't do very much... Either way, we're keeping a close eye on our little Hailey girl... Here are some good pics from this afternoon AFTER the trip to the hospital!

Hailey really wants to "do-it-herself" with the bubbles... Which really means dropping the wand in the bottle over and over and us fishing it out and the soap getting all over everything. That being the only downside, the upside is when she tells you she wants to blow bubbles... She throws her arm in the air and yells, "BUBBLES!"

Skip-a-dee-doo-da, skip-a-dee-day. My oh my what a beautiful day. Plenty of sunshine for Hailey to play... Hey-la-ley-loo-lah, hey-la-lee-lay.

Thanks Abe

Hailey wants to thank her friend Abe from the library for the nice clothes! Even though it's getting warmer, we sure appreciated the outfit! (looks so much better than the picture with the bag over her head!) ;-)

Big Kids Room

Hailey had a big day at our church nursery today. It was her first day in rough and rumble toddler room! So many new toys to play with, Daddy set her down over the gate and she was off and running! We couldn't believe it! She did the same thing for Darlene at the gym earlier in the week as well!

Even though she's going through a lot of changes, one thing has remained the same! She's still a little book worm!

We also got a load of books from our neighbors. Some of Hailey's new favorite books are the ones with lots of pictures. We go through them and point to different thing and name them. She loves working on repeating the words we tell her! One of the new favorites is "yo-yo!" A close second is "em-pa-tee". Which isn't empty (she says "emp-tee" for that one)... It happens to be Manatee!! :)

Rumor Mill

I heard an unconfirmed rumor today that during the week in Illinois, some relatives were trying to convince Hailey to be a Bears football fan... I figured it was my duty to ensure that Hailey knew the appropriate attire if she wanted to make such decisions!

Fan?

Old Hat, New Hat

Hailey spotter her Japanese hat on the wall that she got from Auntie Donna for her first Christmas. I suppose it's the same hat, and this post should really be little head, big head!

Here's the little head! (December 2006)

Here's the big headed version!

Thanks Auntie Donna!

Auntie Donna made it back to Japan and posted some new pictures of our little Hailey-Monster... Hope you enjoy! If you do, tell Donna thanks! :-D

Ducky, backpack, cute hoodie sweater, Elmo slipper?? Yup, that's right. Hailey dragged around Cousin Henry's slipper for the better part of the week! She's had quite the Elmo fascination lately... That slipper just set her off!

Here Cousin Emma.... This right here is a Duck! When are you gonna get one?

Mommy! Get out the stain stick!!!

The Return

My girls have finally returned! My 171.5 hours of bachelorhood is finally over! Hailey and Mommy returned at 10:30 last night... Hailey was excited to be home! She went from her ball to her blocks to her books to her panda bear to her books and finally to the couch in a little over 90 seconds from being inside!

Oh, and she missed Daddy too. I opened the door to the garage to hear "Dadda!" I was sooo happy!

Then, I was filled in on the events of the weekend...

I always imagined that teaching Hailey how to use a drill was something that I'd do... But Mommy took the bull by the horns this weekend and Hailey was drilling like nobody's business. My only tip is to not eat the drill bit!

Cousin Henry is giving Hailey the tour of the Bench... Henry has is very own tool belt too! Apparently Hailey took a dive (which does happen quite often) and Henry rushed over to help her up. When being told he was very nice, Henry promptly stated, "Henry is a man in a tool belt!!"

The best challenge of the weekend came down to Great Grandma Zier and her five great grand children... It's amazing that the more kids in the picture, how many more pictures need to be taken to get "most" of them looking the right direction... Eden! This way!!

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

That's the sound of Daddy being relieved that his girls have made it home! I can sleep again!

Phone a Friend

New pictures to report today... An unnamed source states that this picture was shortly before Hailey decided she didn't really need a nap (even though she looks soooooo tired!!) So later in the afternoon, I talked to her on the phone. All I heard was a few "hello's".. So I could neither confirm or deny the report!

Shipment of Pictures

I received a shipment of pictures tonight from the Land of Lincoln! It's only been three days now, but looking through all the pictures that were sent makes me really miss my girls!!!

Here are a few of the good ones from their exciting day!

Holy man slides are awesome!

Cousin Henry and Hailey posing at the top. Apparently Hailey and Henry are getting along very well this week! When they're out walking down the sidewalk, Hailey will start to dilly-dally... But a quick "Where's Henry?" gets her right back on track!

Hailey's making a special delivery to Auntie Donna. Apparently, Hailey has a wry sense of humor. I wonder what in the world Donna might need relaxing on the couch... Hrmmm... A sauce pan might do the trick!

Thanks Tabitha for uploading the pictures! If you have more and want to make me miss the fun more and more, just keep on sending them!

On Vacation

Hailey and Mommy and Grandma Zier have left Daddy all to his lonesome! They are on their way to visit Great Grandma Zier and are also having a special visitor from Japan in Auntie Donna!

They will be down there all week, and I'll post new pictures as I can... But I'll pass the time with my top 5 or 10 pictures of our little Hailey. Hope you all have a good week!

500 Times!

Today's post has dual meanings. First of all, today is the 500th official post! I can't believe it... I remember 100 and 200, but now all of a sudden it's 500?! How can that be...

The other meaning to 500 times is that I'm pretty sure we'll be walking with Hailey in our little park 500 times this summer! Anytime she hears the word outside, her thoughts go to doggie, walking, or bubbles! She loves being outside, and quite frankly, we do too! It's going to be a whole new world this summer. There's going to be lots and lots and lots to do!

Tee Tee

Hailey really enjoy getting new books from the library. This week, she brought home a lot of books with shapes, objects and colors! She's really enjoying learning the names of things, and then when we say the colors, or point out an object we have in our own house, she thinks that is really fun. Here she's pointing out the black "tee tee" (a.k.a. Kitty!)

Today there was a purple clock in the book, and Mommy pointed to our clock and said, "We have a brown clock." She replied with a point and "ck" sound. Which, is also the same sound for sock, tickle and milk. Without context, we'd have no idea what she's talking about with those!

Old Man Winter

Old man winter, go away...

Come again some other day...
(Christmas! Hint, hint, wink wink)

I would like to walk every day!

Hailey's big adventures the last few days of the Springish weather is going for walks. They used to entail Mommy and Daddy (or anyone else who likes to tag along) pushing Hailey around the neighborhood in the stroller. Now, she's pretty ticked if she has to ride in the stroller. She wants to walk gosh-darn-it. And we had better get to a nice walking spot so I can show you what I've got!

Oh, and yeah, Daddy was wrong yesterday. That wasn't the dress that Grandma Jane got her... We'll reveal those pictures when she actually puts it on... Until then, we can say Mommy has a nice taste in dresses too!

Easter Dresses

Hailey wants to say "Thank You!" to Grandma Jane for this pretty blue dress. She finally got to wear it and I'm pretty sure she already knows that she looks pretty darned cute!

Cheese!

Then what every little girl should be doing with a pretty dress on... Hailey was weeding her flower that she planted a few weeks ago from the local flower shop! She already has a green thumb! Which is a good thing.. I think we are going to get in on a community garden down the road a bit. Maybe she will be helpful out there while we plant and grow some veggies!
